What is an SPDT switch
SPDT is a faster switch design: the switch signal fires as soon as the spring leaf leaves the contact — you don’t wait for a conventional switch to finish a longer press/travel path. On mouse main buttons, that means an earlier, more direct click — about ~30ms faster than ordinary switches — helping reduce click latency.
When the spring leaf leaves the contact, the switch signal triggers immediately — no need to wait for a full conventional press/return travel.
A shorter trigger path helps the click signal arrive earlier, lowering click latency and speeding up continuous input feedback.
Cleaner on/off detection helps firmware recognize presses more consistently (actual feel still depends on the switch model and firmware tuning).
Earlier trigger and clearer feedback suit high-frequency clicking and stop-start micro-adjustments.
